Mayor Bob Blankenship has served as the leader of our local government for the past 4 years. He also served on our volunteer Fire Department as Chief, and served our country for 4 years in Vietnam. Mayor Blankenship has been married to his wife Doris Stewart-Blankenship for 57 years. Mayor Blankenship is also a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher at the first Baptist Church in Monette.
Our City Council members are elected by our citizens. They meet monthly to review City finances, make decisions on current and future city construction projects, vote on new ordinances and resolutions, and determine how best to utilize the city's revenue to serve our citizens. City Council members are Mark Rolland, Aaron Uthoff, Brandon Decker, Ethan Ivy, Gary Qualls and Kristian Nuckles.
Ms. Terry L. Thomas is the Recorder, Treasurer, and Executive Assistant to the Mayor for the City of Monette. The office of the Recorder/Treasurer performs all city budget, accounting, and HR duties; provides administrative assistance to the Mayor and city officials, and is responsible for all record keeping for the City Council.
David Clark is the Chief of our local volunteer Fire Department, which consist of 24 trained volunteer fire fighters, two assistant Chiefs, two Captions, and one Chaplin who is dedicated to serving our citizens by preventing and extinguishing fires which may occur in our municipality and providing emergency services to our citizens
The Monette Police Department has three full-time certified officers to protect and serve the citizens, schools, and businesses of our community 24/7. Chief Brian Carmichael, Sgt. Daniel Haynes, and Officer Lance Davis can be reached at 870.486.2121.
Our Water and Wastewater Departments are dedicated to providing clean, safe drinking water and providing excellent costumer services to the citizens of Monette. They are responsible for daily maintenance of the city water plant, sewer plant, and are responsible for installation and maintenance of the city water lines, meters lift stations, and water towers. If you need water service, or have a water emergency, please call city hall and ask for Dana McKuin, the city's Water Clerk.
Our Animal Control Officer John Helms responds to nuisance animal calls or complaints, runs the city dog pound and provides hands-on care for the general welfare of the animals that are housed within the confines of the Animal Control Department. If you need to report an unleashed animal, please call City Hall.
Our Sanitation Department is responsible for disposing of the city's refuse, organizing clean sweep, and maintaining the city recycling program.
We also have a dedicated Street Department and Parks & Recreation Department which is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and cleaning of the streets, and City Park in Monette.
